RBI launches July 2026 round of Inflation Expectations Survey of Households

The RBI launched the July 2026 round of its Inflation Expectations Survey of Households (IESH) on 9 July 2026. The survey covers 19 cities and captures households' subjective assessments of price movements, including qualitative responses on prices three months and one year ahead and quantitative responses on current, three-month-ahead and one-year-ahead inflation.
The RBI says the results provide useful inputs for monetary policy. The listed cities include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram.

RBI announces overnight VRR auction of Rs 50,000 crore on 9 July 2026

The RBI said it would conduct an overnight Variable Rate Repo (VRR) auction under the LAF on Thursday, 9 July 2026, for a notified amount of Rs 50,000 crore with a tenor of 1 day, reversal on 10 July 2026.
The window is 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM, a different timing from the earlier 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM windows, with the same operational guidelines as the press release of 20 January 2022.

91st meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Board for Wildlife held at Coimbatore

PIB said Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav chaired the 91st meeting of the Standing Committee of the National Board for Wildlife (SC-NBWL) on 9 July 2026 at the Central Academy for State Forest Service, Coimbatore.
The minister's post said the meeting received 118 proposals related to infrastructure and defence from State governments. The committee reviewed progress on directions from earlier NBWL meetings and stressed science-based wildlife conservation and ecological connectivity.
