19 June 2026 | The Hindu (PTI); SEBI press release listed

The Hindu (PTI) reported that the SEBI Board on Friday, 19 June 2026 approved proposals including reintroduction of open-market share buybacks through stock exchanges with a faster timeline, relaxation of intraday borrowing norms for mutual funds, and simpler securities transfer after an investor's death.

The Board also decided to set up a green-channel mechanism called GARUDA, allowing Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) to begin fundraising within 10 working days of filing placement memorandums, against 30 days now, and approved measures to revive agricultural commodity derivatives trading. SEBI's own page 'Key decisions taken in the SEBI Board Meeting dated 19th June, 2026' exists, but only its title could be read for this edition.
